In the first post about this, I showed the transformer...always the first and most important part. Here's another pic of the tranny with my hand on it for size comparison.
This chassis is a steel beast, and it needs to be. This will ultimately be mounted on a shelf in a 19" rolling rack. This was salvaged from a 1952 RCA Majestic TV set. You'll see in the pics below. I'll block some holes, and make other changes, but this Majestic pice will live on! I'm going with 2, maybe 3 GU-81M tubes, to be determined. These tubes are pretty unique, in that they require NO forced air cooling, despite their size and power output! Here's a few pics...
Playing with the tube layout in this beast.No forced air colling required, and at 3kv, these will approach 2000 pep output, each! I'll use a cabinet blower, just to keep things cool.
