Heathkit DX-40

This is a Heathkit DX-40 from around 1958. These are pretty simple CW & AM transmitters that have stood the test of time. They use screen modulation on AM, so bulky modulation transformers aren't needed. I replaced the electrolytic capacitors and a couple of resistors, and she was up and running. I repainted the cabinet, and cleaned / compounded the faceplate. The face still has scratches (character marks), but it looked pretty good for it's age.
