Here's a $2800 IC-756 radio with a bad display. Icom recognized that it was an issue. Rather than support it, they recommend to BUY A NEW RIG from them to replace it. WTF??? There's lots of these out there, stuck with this problem. As much as I like this rig, i'll never spend another penny with Icom.

Thank You for that. I was thinking of getting an ICOM but now I will put that idea aside. I will stick with Kenwood and Elecraft. They both have been good to me over the years.
I have several Icom radios, and love them. However, my experience has been pretty much the same every time I've needed support from them. I literally had to re-engineer a display system to keep the 756 I paid over $2000 for, in operation. I'll never buy another new Icom radio, for sure.
