Monoband & Homebrew Amps

I enjoy building, repairing, and modifying Monoband & Homebrew Amps. There are lots of older monoband amps around that work pretty well on 10m/12m with a little work, as well as old homebrew amps that have been put out to pasture. This is where I'll post some pics and info on mods and builds. 

Wawasee JB-75 One Tube Mobile Amp

This is an old tube-type monoband mobile amp from the late 1970's.  I've run one of these on 10m FM and SSB with one of the monoband QRP 10m radios. Not a lot of power, but a good bit over the QRP level of my Radio Shack HTX-10 :-) More info and pics HERE. 


 

Xeron Mini-Max Sweep Tube Amp

This is an old sweep tube monoband amp from the early 1980's.  I've run one of these on 10m AM, FM, CW, and SSB with one of the monoband QRP 10m radios. Decent power from 4 sweep tubes. More info and pics HERE.

Kris Boomer Sweep Tube Amp

This is an old sweep tube monoband amp from the late 1970's.  This one was pretty rough, so I used it as a test bed for a pair of cool Russian glass tubes I had been looking to test in a sweep tube amp. More info and pics HERE.
